2 LAPD Officers Injured in Los Angeles Along with 4 Others
Six people were injured in a crash involving an LAPD cruiser in downtown LA on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred on October 19th at about 10:50 a.m. around the area of Fifth and Los Angeles streets.
According to reports, the LAPD cruiser sustained front-end damage and left two officers injured.
Four bystanders were also injured as a result, one with major injuries and the other three with minor injuries.
Circumstances as to what led to the collision are still under investigation.
Law enforcement officers face multiple hazards when driving. Some that may put them at risk while on duty are:
- Speeding through intersections
- Distracted by usage of electronic device/radio
- Tunnel vision from stress and/or overly focused
- Not wearing a seatbelt
- Exhausted from consecutive days worked or length of shift
