Driver In HWY 1 Crash Charged With Vehicular Manslaughter And DUI

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 25-year old man from Pacific Grove was arrested and taken into custody at the Monterey County Jail after a fatal car crash Wednesday night on Highway 1 in Marina.

CHP said Stewart Napier was under the influence of drugs when his 2002 GMC Sierra truck hit the back of a 1999 Geo Tracker in the northbound lane closest to the median at an unknown speed.

This collision resulted in the Tracker to hit the median and it caught fire immediately. The victim is believed to be a local resident.
