Jamie Gatewood Killed in Long Beach, CA
Jamie Gatewood, 39, was identified as the homeless woman who was struck and killed by a car on Memorial Day.
A 27-year-old man, from Los Angeles, was in a 2010 Scion XB when he accidentally ran over Gatewood. The Los Angeles man did remain at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Gatewood was lying under a pile of blankets in a Long Beach parking lot when the incident happened. The woman suffered multiple blunt force trauma, according to the coroner’s office.
Unfortunately, at about 10:42 a.m. Jamie Gatewood succumbed to her injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.
