Erik Davalos Killed in Modesto Crash
Authorities have identified the man who was killed in a Sunday three-vehicle collision in Modesto.
Erik Davalos, 33, was reportedly killed on September 19th around 6 p.m. between Sylvan and Woodrow Avenues.
According to reports, Miguel Angel Zapien was driving north on McHenry Avenue when he struck the driver’s side of Erik’s vehicle.
Davalos was reportedly exiting a parking lot when Zapien collided with him.
As a result of the impact, Davalos drifted into the southbound lanes and ended up colliding with a F-150 pickup truck. He also ended up being trapped inside of his Hyundai which caused major injuries.
Zapien and the unidentified driver of the pickup truck sustained major injuries. Unfortunately, Davalos died at the scene.
In addition, Miguel Zapien was also arrested on the suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
