Pedestrian Accident Leaves Teen Boy Injured 

A pickup truck struck a 14-year-old boy at the intersection of Ashlan and Thorne Avenue on Thursday morning. 

The incident occurred on December 2nd at 8 a.m. in Fresno. 

According to reports, the driver did not see the boy in the crosswalk. He also stopped at the scene and called 911 immediately following the crash. 

The boy was transported to a nearby hospital via ambulance with unspecified injuries. 

Neither drugs or alcohol were suspected to be a factor. 

An active investigation is underway. 

According to statistics, there was a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.

In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.
