1 Badly Injured Following Mission Hills Crash

One person was hospitalized after sustaining major injuries following a crash in Mission Hills. The wreck happened on the 5 Freeway at about 12:39 p.m., Tuesday.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said that a big rig, a sedan and three other cars collided for unknown reasons. They all crashed in the northbound lanes of the Freeway near Van Nuys Blvd in Mission Hills.

When emergency personnel arrived at the scene they extricated a person from the sedan. This victim sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The others involved sustained minor injuries. The names of the victims and their conditions has not yet been released. Authorities are still investigating fault for the Mission Hills crash.
