Big Rig Accident on Highway 113 Leaves 1 Hurt

Severe injuries were sustained in a big rig accident in Woodland on Monday morning, July 18th.

According to CHP, the wreck took place at 11:12 a.m. within the northbound lanes of Highway 113.

A Toyota Corolla and big rig collided for unknown reasons at County Road 18C.

One person suffered major injuries as a result. Their current condition is unknown.

It was also reported that the Toyota acquired major damage and had to be towed away from the scene.

A second tow truck was also needed for the big rig.

Police cleared the roadway at 1:32 p.m.

Investigators are actively working to determine fault.

Big rigs typically weigh 20-30 times as much as passenger cars which leaves occupants of smaller cars more vulnerable.

It is also much more difficult for larger trucks to stop so their braking capability can also be a factor in these collisions.

According to the D.O.T., in 2019 67% of fatal collisions involving large trucks were occupants of a passenger car.

If your injuries are caused by the negligence of a third party you may be entitled to compensation.
