Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash Reported in Harbor Gateway Area
Police are actively searching for the hit-and-run suspect of a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred in Los Angeles.
The incident took place on Tuesday night, May 10th, in the Harbor Gateway area.
A driver in an alleged BMW struck a woman in her 30s, causing major injuries.
The woman was rushed to a hospital where she sadly died as a result of her injuries.
It was also reported that the driver fled the scene.

According to statistics, 20% of pedestrian fatalities include fleeing drivers. In addition, 68% of those killed in hit-and-run crashes are pedestrians and bicyclists.
There was also a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.
In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.
