Car Overturns With Kids Inside in Fresno, CA
A woman suffers life-threatening injuries after her vehicle overturned on Tuesday afternoon in Fresno County. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was in a GMC Envoy with her two children. The accident happened at around 2 p.m. on May 11 near South Chestnut Avenue and East Muscat Avenue.
As the GMC was traveling south on Chestnut, a Kia made a left turn directly into the path of the vehicle. This caused the woman in the GMC to swerve to the right, in hopes of avoiding a crash. However, this only caused the vehicle to run off the road and collide into a chain-link fence.
Because the woman was not wearing a seat belt, she was ejected from her seat upon impact. She was taken to Community. Regional Medical Center with major injuries. Both children were wearing seat belts and were not injured.
