7-Year-Old Son & Mother Injured in Pedestrian Crash
Minor injuries were sustained in a pedestrian accident in Berkeley last Friday, September 23rd.
Per reports, the incident took place just before 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Cedar and California Street.
An unidentified woman and her 7-year-old son were struck within the crosswalk by a westbound vehicle.
The involved driver stayed at the scene and was fully cooperative with authorities.
An active investigation remains underway.
There was a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.
In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.

- Avoid distractions (use of headphones, cell phone)
- Obey traffic laws & signals
- Always use crosswalk
