Wendy Rosas ID’d as Person Killed in Santa Ana DUI Traffic Accident

A DUI collision claimed the life of 21-year-old Wendy Rosas on Sunday morning in Santa Ana.

The fatal two-vehicle crash occurred at about 12:15 a.m. in the 4800 block of W. McFadden Avenue on August 22nd.

Rosas was reportedly speeding in her Ford Edge when she crashed into the back of a Toyota Sequoia.

As a result of the impact, the Ford veered off the roadway and crashed into a pole.

Rosas was pronounced dead at the scene. It was also discovered that she was under the influence at the time of the crash.

In addition, two of the passengers in Wendy’s car sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

Authorities also found numerous alcohol containers in the Ford.

According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.
