Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Main Street
24-year-old Victor Parades Jr. died as the result of a hit-and-run crash in Watsonville on May 5th.
Reports included that the fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Main Street around 10:30 p.m.
A vehicle struck the man for unknown reasons near Highway 1 that Thursday night.
An air ambulance transported the victim to a trauma center for treatment where he sadly died.
The suspect was said to have been driving a dark-colored sedan which sustained right front-end damage.
Investigators are still working to piece together all of the details of the incident.

According to statistics, 20% of pedestrian fatalities include fleeing drivers. In addition, 68% of those killed in hit-and-run crashes are pedestrians and bicyclists.
There was also a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.
