Traffic Collision Results in Major Injuries in Thousand Palms 

Investigators are working to determine liability regarding a two-vehicle collision that occurred in Thousand Palms on Tuesday. 

The collision took place in the afternoon just minutes after 4 p.m. on January 4th. 

CHP reported that the accident occurred at the intersection of Ramon Road and Washington Street. 

The two vehicles collided under unclear circumstances just south of the Coachella Valley Preserve. 

It was reported that one person suffered major injuries and another was left with minor injuries. Both were hospitalized and the one with major injuries was transported via air ambulance. 

The crash also resulted in traffic congestion for an unknown period of time. 

Tips for after accident procedures:

  • Always stop at the scene 
  • Call 911 if there are any injuries 
  • Get vehicle to safety if it is moveable, if it is not, put on hazards
  • Exchange information with others involved and document everything 
  • Call 911 to report accident – they determine who was at fault
