Fatal Crash at Norris Road and Melody Lane 

43-year-old Edward Valdez Rios was killed as the result of a two-vehicle collision in Bakersfield on Friday morning. 

The accident was reported around 7 a.m. on Norris Road on January 21st.

According to reports, a Honda Civic and Ford F-250 pickup truck were among the vehicles involved. 

The truck was reportedly making a U-turn at the intersection at the time of the crash. It was also believed that the Honda was speeding. 

Rios, the driver of Honda, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at 7:19 a.m. 

Neither drugs or alcohol were suspected to play a factor. 

The crash remains under investigation.
