Car Crashes into Apartment Building 

A car crashed into an apartment building in the City Heights neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon, August 10th. 

According to authorities, the crash happened around 4:35 p.m. on Highland Avenue just south of El Cajon Boulevard. 

Investigators are actively seeking answers to determine what led to the crash.

The two people injured were the driver as well as a woman inside of the building. The woman sustained a head injury as a result. 

Both were transported to the hospital. One was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center while the other was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital. 

Additionally, reports revealed both are “acute status” patients,  which means they have sustained  traumatic injuries. 

Two other adult residents of the apartment building have also been affected and have been forced to relocate for the time being.

  • Always stop at the scene 
  • Call 911 if there are any injuries 
  • Get vehicle to safety if it is moveable, if it is not, put on hazards
  • Exchange information with others involved and document everything 
    • Call 911 to report accident – they determine who was at fault
