Two Hospitalized Following Car Wreck in Orangevale 

A pickup truck crashed into a tattoo shop on Monday afternoon in Orangevale. 

The incident occurred when the truck collided with another vehicle as it was traveling the wrong way on Greenback Lane. 

Due to the impact, one of the truck’s wheels detached, causing it to lose control and crash into the building. 

Both the driver of the pickup and another occupant from the other vehicle were hospitalized. The extent of their injuries; however, have yet to be disclosed. 

It was also reported that the tattoo shop was vacant at the time of the accident. 

Further details will be provided once an investigation is concluded.

Although crashes involving wrong-way driving account for only 3% of motor vehicle accidents, they usually have a higher fatality rate as they are often head-on collisions. A study in Virginia concluded that those accidents which include wrong-way driving are twenty-seven times more likely to end in a fatality compared to other types of accidents.
