2 Hospitalized After Collision Involving School Bus Near Panoche Road

Trever Bohner, and several other suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on State Route 33 near Panoche Road.

According to Merced Sun-Star News, Bohner was behind the wheel of a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta heading west on Panoche Road. Earlier reports indicated the Jetta entered the intersection at State Route 33 at about the same time as a 1999 Thomas School Bus, leading to the crash. Officials mentioned the right-front side of the bus slammed into the passenger side of the Volkswagen.

The article published online reported the school bus was traveling at approximately 60mph carrying 20 students, and three staff members when the collision happened.

Children Injured in Los Banos Traffic Accident on State Route 33

Shortly after 2:37 p.m., medical personnel arrived at the location. Responding paramedics rendered aid to all parties involved in the wreck. After the evaluation, authorities announced multiple passengers aboard the bus sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident. Parents reportedly transported their injured children to local medical facilities for treatment and further evaluation.

Officers added Trever Bohner and his passenger both suffered serious injuries in the crash. Given their condition, a medical helicopter airlifted the two patients to a Fresno hospital for treatment.

Several factors surrounding the collision remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the accident that happened on State Route 33 in Los Banos.
