Big Rig in Arvin Claims the Life of Jasmine Soofi

Young Girls Life Was Taken In a Big Rig Crash

Jasmine Leann Soofi, 21, was killed in a two-vehicle collision in the early hours of Monday morning.

The deadly incident occurred on October 18th around 1:44 a.m. near Wheeler Ridge Road and Teale Road.

It was reported that a sedan was driving recklessly in the wrong direction before colliding with a big rig.

Sadly, Soofi was pronounced dead after the collision.

As a result of the crash, authorities also shut down Wheeler Ridge Road for several hours to clean up and investigate.

The crash remains under investigation.

Although crashes involving wrong-way driving account for only 3% of motor vehicle accidents, they usually have a higher fatality rate as they are often head-on collisions. A study in Virginia concluded that those accidents which include wrong-way driving are twenty-seven times more likely to end in a fatality compared to other types of accidents.
