Taher Hanifeh Identified as 1 Injured in Copperopolis Collision
Six people were injured Sunday afternoon in Copperopolis, CA in a collision involving two vehicles.
California Highway Patrol reported the crash at about 2:45 p.m. on August 8th. The crash took place at the intersection of O’Byrnes Ferry Road and Highway 4.
One of the six people that were injured has been ID’d as 22-year-old Taher Hanifeh. Hanifeh was reportedly heading northbound in a 2006 Toyota Avalon approaching the stop sign on Highway 4.
When she entered the intersection, Hanifeh drove right into the path of a westbound 2012 Ford F-150.
The right side of Hanifeh’s vehicle collided with the front of the Ford, thus causing both vehicles to spin out of control. Both eventually came to a stop at the intersection’s northwest corner.
Hanifeh along with one of her three passengers sustained moderate injuries and were transported to Modesto Memorial. The other two passengers were seriously injured and taken to Doctors Medical Center.
The Ford occupant had minor injuries and was also taken to Modesto Memorial. His passenger, on the other hand, sustained major injuries and was taken to Doctors Medical as well.
The collision remains under investigation. Neither drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
