Highway 89 Collision Results in 5 People Hospitalized
Five people were left with injuries after a traffic collision in Sierraville on Friday , July 29th.
It was reported that a northbound vehicle veered into opposing traffic after the driver fell asleep.
This caused the vehicle to collide with a southbound vehicle driven by Stephen Reikes, 54, from Livermore.
The collision took place just before 5:30 p.m. on Highway 89.
All patients were airlifted to Renown Medical Center for treatment. No other names have been disclosed at this time .
The crash remains under investigation.

- Call 911 if there are any injuries
- Get vehicle to safety if it is moveable, if it is not, put on hazards
- Exchange information with others involved and document everything
- Call 911 to report accident – they determine who was at fault
