Shooting on freeway results in crash
On the early morning of Monday, July 26th, the driver of an Infinity was approached by a driving shooter and suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. This led to a multi-vehicle crash around midnight.
According to officers, both vehicles were heading westbound when the shooter shot at the Infinity four times. The driver of the Infinity suffered other injuries to his face as well as a broken leg. He lost control of his car, causing a car behind him to also lose control and crash head-on with a third vehicle.
One other passenger was present with the wounded driver at the time but fled the scene and was later detained by police. That passenger sustained injuries from the crash but was not affected by any gunshots.
A firearm was also discovered within the passenger’s vicinity but no connection to the incident has been made known.
The suspect was found later Monday morning with help from the public.
