Shane Ramirez Left Dead Near 121 Street East

Authorities are investigating a traffic accident that killed Shane Ramirez, 34, in Palmdale Monday evening.

The accident happened at about 9:35 p.m. on Highway 138, west of 121 Street East, according to the CHP. Ramirez, of Pearblossom, was walking across the highway when due to minimal lighting he was struck by a Saturn Aura.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, Ramirez had suffered fatal injuries. Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Aura, Jerry Matthew Tate, 22, of Palmdale remained at the scene and complied with authorities. Tate was questioned and then released, according to reports.
