Man & Woman Seriously Hurt in Crash on Clayton and Chestnut Avenue
A T-bone collision occurred as the result of a stop sign violation in Fresno on Sunday afternoon.
The accident took place around 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of Clayton and Chestnut Avenue.
Per CHP, a GMC Yukon driven by a man in his 40s drove through a stop sign and T-boned a Chevy Silverado.
Both cars flipped upon impact, causing major injuries to both drivers.
The female driver of the Chevy was in her late 60s and hospitalized as a result.
In addition, the male driver was also hospitalized.
The crash remains under investigation.
Statistics have shown that approximately 70% of motor-vehicle accidents are a result of stop sign violations. These accidents often happen at an angle rather than head on and about one-third result in some sort of injury.
