Garden Grove Accident on Highway 22 near Goldenwest St

One person was hospitalized following a big rig accident early Wednesday morning in Garden Grove, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision happened around 1:13 a.m. on eastbound Highway 22, just west of Goldenwest Street.

Police said a big rig and Hyundai collided for unknown reasons. One vehicle was on the roadway’s right shoulder due to the accident, while the other was blocking the HOV lane.

A Hyundai occupant sustained a head injury due to the collision. The responding emergency crews and medics aided the patient before transporting them to the hospital for further treatment.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the accident scene.

No additional information concerning this crash was provided.
