Sebastian Rodriguez Identified as Hit-and-Run Driver in Tulare

Authorities identified Sebastian Rodriguez as the hit-and-run driver who crashed into two Tulare houses. The 30-year-old man left two sleeping women injured due to the collision on Thursday morning.

Rodriguez was driving a GMC Yukon at unsafe speeds in Tulare. Officers saw him speeding off after leaving a business. Police say he traveled south on Spruce Street.

Ultimately, Rodriguez failed to make a turn and crashed into two homes. The GMC hit the corner of one house and completely entered the second house at around 11:30 p.m.

The debris from the crash left the victims trapped inside. Firefighters had to extricate them from the wreckage and transport them to a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez abandoned the Yukon and fled on foot. His 20-year-old passenger also tried to flee, but officials caught him. They have both been booked and charged with resisting or obstructing a police officer.
