1 Hospitalized in North Highlands, CA

Investigators are working to determine liability of a scooter collision that took place Monday night, August 23rd.

The accident was reported at about 8:14 p.m. in the 4600 block of Madison Ave near Interstate 80.

According to reports, a scooter and a gray Honda collided for reasons unknown.

As a result of the crash, the scooter rider was left with major injuries and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

A section of Madison Avenue was also closed down for a period of time.

Studies show that the number of scooter-related accidents increased by 222% from 2014-2018.

In addition, 80% of scooter fatalities involve cars and the use of e-scooters is most common in people ages 18-34.
