Woman Hit by Scooter ini West Hollywood

The sister of Mayor Lauren Meister was hit & injured by a scooter rider in West Hollywood.

Debbie Meister was reportedly struck in the area of Santa Monica Boulevard and Westmount Drive. 

It is unclear what day and time this incident occurred. 

As a result, Meister sustained multiple injuries and spent two nights at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. 

Meister underwent surgery for a fractured elbow and suffered broken bones in her right foot. 

There have been no details made on the male scooter rider. 

Investigators are actively working to determine the cause of the accident. 

Between 2014 & 2018 the number of scooter-related injuries increased by 222%.

The popularity of scooters have risen tremendously in recent years, especially in cities such as Los Angeles. It is a convenient mode of transportation for many.
