Spencer Thomas, Shane Rivera, and Wilbert Montenegro Killed in Crash

The three people who were killed in a car accident last Sunday, August 28th, have been identified. 

CHP reported that the accident took place at 4:10 p.m. on San Francisquito Road in Santa Clarita. 

Wilbert Montenegro, 40, was driving south in a BMW when he made an unsafe left turn. 

As a result, his vehicle crashed head-on with a GMC Suburban. 

Upon impact, both vehicles became engulfed in flames. 

Sadly, Montenegro and his passenger, Shane Rivera, 41, both died at the scene. 

The driver of the GMC, Spencer Thomas, 28, of Saugus, was also killed.  

There were also two passengers in the GMC that suffered severe injuries and were taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital for treatment. 

An active investigation remains underway.
