Interstate 280 Accident Results in 1 Hospitalized 

Three vehicles collided on Interstate 280 in San Jose on Tuesday morning. 

The crash took place on December 28th within the northbound lanes around 4:15 a.m. 

According to CHP reports, a pickup truck and two other vehicles collided under unclear circumstances. 

The pickup truck ended up sustaining major damage upon impact. 

An unidentified person also suffered major injuries and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. 

Police shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 280 for cleanup and investigation purposes. 

An active investigation is underway. 

Multi-vehicle collisions are typically more common in busy intersections or highways. Speeding, weather, distractions, and drowsy or intoxicated driving are main reasons negligent drivers cause these types of wrecks.
