Bakersfield Collision Involving RV Kills 1 Person
Two vehicles, one of which was an RV, collided in Bakersfield on Thursday, December 9th.
The collision was reported at 1:08 p.m. on the Interstate 5 Freeway.
According to CHP, a car overturned for reasons unknown then collided with an RV.
As a result, the car then rolled off the freeway into an orchard.
One person was also ejected from the car due to the impact which sadly resulted in a death.
There was also a carjacking at the crash site.
An active investigation is underway to determine liability.
The identity of the victim is also being withheld pending notification of kin.
According to statistics, there are 76,000 accidents involving an RV each year.
RV’s can typically be dangerous due to their size and height which may make it difficult to maneuver.

- Inexperienced drivers
- Large blind spot
- Windy weather
- Speeding
- Runaway trailer
- Bad turns
