Father of Three Killed in Hit-and-run Crash; Jesus A. Bartolo Arrested

Roman Lizaola-Montano died last Tuesday night in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Jamboree Road and Sea Vista Drive in Newport Beach.

The deadly crash occurred at around 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16th, police said.

The 46-year-old man had just finished his shift at Pavilions and was walking to the bus stop near Jamboree Road and Sea Vista Drive.

However, the father of three never made it to the bus stop as he was struck by a silver Toyota Camry whose driver fled the scene. Roman Lizaola-Montano died following the collision.

Meanwhile, police arrested the suspect, Jesus A. Bartolo, 30, of Santa Ana, and arrested him on felony hit-and-run charges shortly after. He was located near Jamboree and Santa Barbara Drive, the OC Register reported.

It’s unknown what circumstances led up to the collision.

The family of the man who died has a Gofundme page to raise money for his funeral.
