Darin Rogers Arrested Following DUI Crash in Redding, CA

A 30-year-old man was left in critical condition following a DUI crash in Redding on Sunday morning. 

Per reports, the crash took place just minutes after 8 a.m. on July 17th.

A Dodge Ram struck a Ford Focus at the intersection of Oasis Road and Akrich Street.

The Ford driver was taken to the UC Davis Medical Center for treatment of severe injuries.

It was also reported that the Dodge driver, Darin Rogers, 61, was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana at the time of the accident. He was booked into Shasta County Jail.

An active investigation remains underway.

According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.
