Man Arrested for Property Damage and Attempted Theft

Sheriff Mike Fridley has remarked that a Kanawha County man was arrested in Fayette County on felony charges.

Jamie Lee King, 32, of Pratt, was charged on charges on entering without breaking, felony destruction of property, and attempt to commit a felony. The deputies of Sheriff were dispatched to Lexington Coal in the Smithers area after a complaint for trespassing was received. It was remarked by the deputies that the arrested man appeared to have made an attempt to steal circuit breakers that caused extensive damage.

The arrested man also had tools and ATV to assist in the planned theft. The 32-year-old was unable to post a bond of $50,000 set by the Fayette County Magistrate’s Office and was remanded to the Southern Regional Jail.
