Fatal Traffic Accident on Highway 16

33-year-old Prajal Bista was killed as the result of a two-vehicle collision in Woodland Thursday night. 

CHP reported that the crash occurred on Highway 16 around 11 p.m. on April 14th.

A Honda Civic and Chevrolet Impala collided under unclear circumstances at the intersection of Highway 16 and County Road 97.

Upon impact, the Civic crashed into a power pole and the Impala overturned on its roof after colliding with a utility box. 

Sadly, Bista, the Honda driver, died at the scene of the crash. 

The 25-year-old male driver of the Impala also suffered major injuries and was taken to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment. 

An active investigation is underway.
