DUI Hit-and-Run in Monterey, CA

Marcelo Munoz Sixto, and Fidencio Lopez-Daniel were both taken into custody for being involved in a hit-and-run crash in Monterey, CA.

According to news reports, Marcelo Sixto, 18, was driving a car near Del Monte Street and Camino El Estero. Due to being intoxicated, Sixto collided with two other vehicles at the Monterey intersection.

At around 7:30 p.m., paramedics arrived at the scene and found the suspect vehicle abandoned. Officials reported that both Sixto and Lopez-Daniel ran from the scene after the crash.

Police found the suspects and arrested them. Reports mention Sixto was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level greater than .08 percent, hit and run causing injury, and driving on a suspended license.

Authorities also took Lopez-Daniel into custody for suspicion of public intoxication. Meanwhile, the occupants from the other vehicles sustained minor injuries.
