Major Injuries Suffered in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 10 Freeway

Investigators are working to determine the cause of a multi-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday morning in Colton.

CHP reported that the incident took place around 1 a.m. on westbound 10 Freeway.

Three unidentified vehicles were involved; however, it is unclear what factored into the crash.

One person suffered serious injuries and was taken to Loma Linda University for treatment.

It was also reported that another three-vehicle collision occurred in the same area around the same time.

Authorities shut down all westbound lanes for a period of time after the wreck.

The crash remains under investigation.

Multi-vehicle collisions are typically more common in busy intersections or highways. Speeding, weather, distractions, and drowsy or intoxicated driving are main reasons negligent drivers cause these types of wrecks.

When it comes to filing a claim with this type of collision, it gets difficult. This is because multiple vehicles are involved so determining liability can take much longer. Multi-vehicle collision claims are more complex due to numerous victims, multiple negligent drivers, cross-claims and insufficient insurance.
