Pileup Crash Kills Felipe Garay in Fresno

A multi-vehicle collision which happened Saturday morning claimed the life of 33-year-old Felipe Garay.

The crash, involving 4 vehicles, took place at around 8:15 a.m. on August 14th on Highway 99 near Ashlan Avenue.

According to reports, Garay was driving a Honda Civic when he collided with a Caltrans sweeper on the southbound side. The Civic spun out of control thus causing Garay to hit a big rig and a school bus.

The school bus did not occupy any children at the time of the crash.

Garay was transported to Community Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Multi-vehicle collisions are typically more common in busy intersections or highways. Speeding, weather, distractions, and drowsy or intoxicated driving are main reasons negligent drivers cause these types of wrecks.

When it comes to filing a claim with this type of collision, it gets difficult. This is because multiple vehicles are involved so determining liability can take much longer. Multi-vehicle collision claims are more complex due to numerous victims, multiple negligent drivers, cross-claims and insufficient insurance.
