Hit-and-Run Accident at Greenwich and Meadowlark 

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in San Pablo, CA on Tuesday morning. 

The crash occurred at 5:37 a.m. on January 25th at the intersection of Greenwich Court and Meadowlark Street. 

It is unclear at this time what led to the collision; however, the involved driver fled the scene. 

Paramedics responded at the scene to provide aid to the victim. The extent of their injuries has yet to be made known. 

Authorities also shut down the corner of Greenwich and Meadowlark for a period of time following the collision. 

Investigators are actively working to find the suspect as well as determine the cause of the accident. 

According to statistics, 20% of pedestrian fatalities include fleeing drivers. In addition, 68% of those killed in hit-and-run crashes are pedestrians and bicyclists. 

There was a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.

In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.
