Freeway Pedestrian Accident Kills 1 Person at Vine Street

On Thursday morning an unidentified pedestrian was killed on Highway 101 at Vine Street. 

The tragic accident took place on October 28th around 4:30 a.m. at the off-ramp, per reports. 

An unidentified vehicle ran off the freeway and crashed through a series of trees prior to crashing into a building. 

Sadly, when the LA Police Department responded to the scene they pronounced the pedestrian dead. 

In addition, the driver was hospitalized in unknown condition. 

The crash also remains under investigation. 

According to statistics, there was a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.

In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.

  • Always use crosswalk
