Fatal Pedestrian Accident at Lebec Intersection
On Friday morning, November 5th, an unidentified pedestrian was killed at an intersection in lebec.
The fatality occurred at 5:53 a.m. on Frazier Mountain Park Road at Grand Terrace Estates Drive.
According to CHP, a Toyota Corolla struck the pedestrian under unclear circumstances.
Emergency personnel arrived to provide aid but sadly, despite life-saving efforts, the pedestrian died at the scene.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes were blocked off for a period of time.
Investigators are actively working to determine liability.
According to statistics, there was a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.
In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.
