Todd Road Crash Results in Death of Pedestrian 

Investigators are working to determine the cause of a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred in Santa Rosa Monday morning. 

CHP reported that the incident occurred at 5:49 a.m. on Todd Road. 

A box truck struck the man on September 19th under unclear circumstances. 

A second vehicle then ran over the victim after trying to avoid him in the roadway. 

Sadly, the man was declared dead at the scene once first responders arrived. 

Further details will be provided once an investigation is concluded.

There was a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.

In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.

• Always be aware of your surroundings
• Avoid distractions (use of headphones, cell phone) 
• Obey traffic laws & signals
• Always use crosswalk
