Woman Killed in Calabasas Pedestrian Crash

An unidentified woman was fatally struck by a bus Friday evening in Calabasas. 

Her SUV reportedly stalled within the northbound lanes of the 101 Freeway, leading to her exiting her vehicle. 

It was at 7:39 p.m. when an oncoming bus hit her, causing critical injuries. 

Sadly, despite life-saving efforts by paramedics, she died at the scene. 

Her identity is being withheld at this time. 

Further details will be provided once an investigation is concluded.

According to statistics, there was a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.

In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.
