36-Year-Old Woman Dies in Crash on 1st Street

A fatal pedestrian crash took place in Santa Ana on Saturday, June 4th.

Lucia Rodriguez Lopez, 36, was crossing West 1st Street with her husband at the time of the accident.

It was around 8:30 p.m. when a driver struck them within the 4700 block of the road.

Both suffered serious injuries; however, the woman sadly died at the scene.

Her husband was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. 

The involved driver stayed at the scene and was fully cooperative with authorities. 

Police also forced a closure of a portion of 1st Street for a period of time following the incident.
