Man Killed in Huntington Beach Hit-and-Run Crash

An elderly man ID’d as John Stout, 81, was hit and killed by a vehicle in Huntington Beach on April 14th. 

Per police, the incident occurred around 5 p.m. that Thursday on Yorktown Avenue. 

Stout was reportedly walking outside of a marked crosswalk when a silver Toyota Prius struck him and fled the scene. 

The man was rushed to a nearby hospital where he sadly died due to his injuries. 

Thanks to social media, authorities were able to locate the suspect, Blake Patraw, 23, and arrest him.
