Fatal Crash on 40 Freeway  

An unidentified person was ejected from a vehicle and killed on Thursday evening in Newberry Springs. 

The deadly crash occurred on November 4th near Desert Oasis Rest Area just before 9:30 p.m. 

According to reports, an SUV, pickup truck and possibly a semi were among the vehicles involved. 

While it is unclear what caused the collision, the SUV was overturned in the center divider as a result. 

One person was also ejected and another became trapped under one of the vehicles. 

Sadly, the ejected person was pronounced dead at the scene. 

California Highway Patrol is actively investigating the collision to determine liability. 

Additionally, glass debris was left scattered across the roadway. Caltrans also shut down the No. 1 lane of the freeway for a period of time.
