Deadly Rollover Accident on Interstate 15 

One person died as the result of a two-vehicle collision on Monday night in Nipton, California. 

The fatal crash occurred on December 6th around 9:44 p.m. on the I-15 Freeway. 

Authorities do not know at this time what caused the crash between a Nissan Sentra and a sedan. 

Due to the impact, one of the vehicles rolled over. 

Unfortunately, one unidentified person was pronounced dead at the scene. 

It is unclear at this time if anybody else sustained injuries. 

CHP also shut down a portion of the 15 Freeway following the crash.

The crash remains under investigation. 

Statistics show that rollover accidents account for about one-third of all fatalities in the U.S. In  addition, 30% of vehicle fatalities are rollover crashes. These types of accidents are far more likely to result in a fatality than non-rollover crashes.
