Three-Vehicle DUI Collision on Highway 76
A DUI collision involving three vehicles occurred on Thursday evening in Oceanside.
The incident occurred around 10:42 p.m. on Highway 76 near Rice Canyon Road.
According to reports, three vehicles collided under unclear circumstances.
Due to the impact, one person sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Intoxication is expected to be a factor, however the crash remains under investigation.
According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.
When it comes to filing a claim with a multi-vehicle collision, it gets difficult. This is because multiple vehicles are involved so determining liability can take much longer. Multi-vehicle collision claims are more complex due to numerous victims, multiple negligent drivers, cross-claims and insufficient insurance.
