Fatal Accident Reported in Oakland, CA 

A deadly crash killed two people in Oakland on Wednesday, August 24th. 

The wreck took place on State Route Highway 13 just minutes after 3:30 a.m. 

It was reported that a vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a guardrail. It then crashed into trees along the highway and bursted into flames as a result. 

Unfortunately, two occupants of the vehicle became trapped inside and died at the scene. 

Their names are being withheld at this time pending notification of kin. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. 

In 2020, studies showed that the state of California reported 3,723 motor-vehicle deaths which was an increase from 2019. 

In the U.S. one’s odds of dying in a car accident is around 1 in 107.

Always make sure to wear a seatbelt, obey traffic laws, and avoid distractions while driving.
