1 Killed, 1 Injured in Car Accident on Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach

A man was killed in a car crash that left two people injured in Newport Beach on Sunday night.

The fatal crash happened on Pacific Coast Highway between Hoag and Riverside Drives at around 8 p.m., according to the California Highway.

A Mercedes Benz is reported to have crashed into a box truck on the roadway in unclear circumstances.

A man inside the Mercedes was killed in the accident. His name was not immediately disclosed.

Another man and woman were seriously injured in the crash and were transported to Mission Hospital for treatment.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
