Two Pedestrians Hit & Killed by Impaired Driver 

A suspected DUI driver hit and killed two pedestrians in National City on Wednesday evening. 

The incident took place on June 22nd around 10:20 p.m. on East Plaza Boulevard. 

Tayishe Baltys, 43, was driving a truck impaired when she hit Brian McKee, 39, and a 15-year-old girl. 

Sadly, the teenage girl died at the scene. McKee was rushed to the hospital where he later died, unfortunately. 

The driver was arrested for DUI and vehicular manslaughter and is being held on $500,000 bail. 

An active investigation is underway.
